Altman and Huang Rewrite the AI Jobs Story
Sam Altman and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang are pushing back on the “AI will kill jobs” narrative, arguing that the companies adopting AI most aggressively are also often hiring the most.
Altman told CNBC that some companies blaming AI for layoffs may actually be using AI as a convenient excuse, while NVIDIA’s Huang called fears of AI destroying software jobs “complete nonsense” and said agentic AI could increase demand for software. The shift comes after months of louder warnings from AI leaders about white-collar disruption, creating a noticeable pivot from fear-based messaging to productivity-and-growth messaging. Huang’s argument is especially relevant to agents: if AI agents become the new users of software, software companies will need to make their products agent-accessible, not obsolete.
Strategic signal: the AI jobs debate is moving from “replacement” to “augmentation,” but the real winners may be companies that redesign work, software, and hiring around agentic productivity.
Workday launched Agent Passport, a system to test, verify, and continuously monitor AI agents before and after deployment. The tool measures agents against public standards including OWASP LLM Top 10, NIST AI RMF, and MITRE ATLAS, giving security teams signed, auditable proof of what each agent was tested for. Cisco joined as the launch partner, using Cisco AI Defense to provide independent verification for agents inside Workday. The move targets one of the biggest blockers to enterprise agent adoption: proving that internal and third-party agents are safe enough to touch HR, finance, and IT workflows.
Strategic signal: agent trust is becoming a product category, not just a compliance checklist.
Workday also launched new developer tools for building, connecting, and verifying agents across HR, finance, and IT. The new Developer Agent plugs into tools like Claude Code, Cline, Codex, Cursor, and Google Antigravity, letting developers build Workday apps and agents through plain-language prompts. Its Agent-Ready Tools expose Workday actions over MCP with built-in security, delegation, business-process controls, and audit trails. Workday says hundreds of these tools will act across Workday, while custom actions can be built from thousands of Pipedream connectors.
Strategic signal: enterprise SaaS platforms are converting their APIs into agent-safe action layers.

Microsoft announced Windows 365 for Agents, giving AI agents secured and managed Cloud PCs for enterprise workloads. The system lets agents interact with applications and browsers, execute multi-step workflows, and operate across modern, legacy, API-based, and UI-driven systems. Each Cloud PC is Entra ID-joined, Intune-managed, and policy-enforced, creating a governed execution environment for agent fleets. Microsoft says Agent makers can use it through Agent 365 tools, now generally available, or through a preview in Copilot Studio.
Strategic signal: enterprise agents need their own managed computers, not just API keys.
Microsoft gave an early look at Project Solara, a chip-to-cloud platform for agent-first devices. The company showed two reference designs: a wearable badge device powered by Qualcomm silicon and a desk companion device powered by a MediaTek IoT SoC. Microsoft framed Solara as a low-cost, turnkey way to bootstrap hardware where agents are always available and naturally engaged. The goal is to move agents beyond a single app, screen, or device into ambient work surfaces.
Strategic signal: the next agent platform may not look like a chatbot—it may look like dedicated hardware around the workplace.
Microsoft introduced an early preview of the Microsoft Execution Containers SDK, a cross-platform, policy-driven execution layer for agents on Windows and WSL. MXC lets developers define what an agent can access, while Windows enforces constraints at runtime through process isolation, session isolation, and future micro-VM and Linux-container support. GitHub Copilot CLI has already adopted MXC process isolation, and partners including OpenClaw, NVIDIA OpenShell, Hermes, Manus, and OpenAI are part of the ecosystem. Microsoft says the goal is to make agents governable and secure at the OS layer, not only inside the application.
Strategic signal: operating systems are being redesigned around agent containment, identity, and auditability.
