OpenAI ships “Lockdown Mode” to harden agentic workflows

OpenAI introduced Lockdown Mode (an optional, deterministic security setting) plus “Elevated Risk” labels across ChatGPT, Atlas, and Codex aimed squarely at prompt-injection and data-exfiltration risks that spike when agents can browse the web or use connected apps. For higher-risk users, browsing can be constrained to cached content and certain tools/actions can be disabled to reduce attack surface an important signpost for enterprise agent deployments.
