TxFlow launches an AI-native chain for autonomous finance

TxFlow said its L1 mainnet is now live, positioning the network as infrastructure for a financial system where autonomous agents and human traders operate side by side. The company claims the chain is built for high-throughput on-chain finance, with its DEX debuting alongside the launch and a stated performance target of more than 250,000 TPS. Strategically, this matters because it frames agentic finance not as a plugin on top of existing crypto rails, but as a purpose-built execution environment where AI agents can trade, route, and settle directly.

Alibaba reportedly prepares AI merchant agents for Taobao and Tmall

SCMP reported on March 28 that Alibaba is set to roll out AI agents for millions of merchants across Taobao and Tmall, extending the company’s recent agent push from enterprise tooling into its core commerce ecosystem. If deployed at scale, this would be one of the clearest examples yet of agentic commerce moving upstream into merchant operations rather than just consumer shopping assistants. The strategic implication is that Chinese platforms may be turning AI agents into default operating infrastructure for sellers, not just optional productivity features.

Google’s internal “Agent Smith” reportedly hits demand limits

Business Insider reported that Google employees are rapidly adopting an internal autonomous assistant called “Agent Smith,” with access reportedly restricted because of demand. The reported capabilities go beyond a standard copilot: asynchronous task execution, coding help, and access to internal tools and documents based on a user’s profile. This is not a public product announcement, but it is still notable because it suggests large enterprises are now stress-testing agent-style internal workers at meaningful scale inside their own operations.

INRIX pushes a domain-specific AI agent into public-sector road safety

INRIX announced Compass, a generative AI agent for transportation agencies, designed to help cities identify systemic roadway safety risks before serious crashes occur. The company says Compass combines LLMs with more than two decades of transportation data, aiming to make safety analysis faster and more accessible for government users. Strategically, this is a useful signal that agentic AI is spreading into narrow, data-rich public-sector workflows where the value comes less from flashy autonomy and more from compressing expert analysis into operational decisions.

“Apocaloptimism” Goes Mainstream as New AI Documentary Drops

“The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist” is now in theaters and it’s quickly becoming one of the most talked-about AI narratives outside of tech. Directed by Oscar-winner Daniel Roher, the film moves past hype cycles and instead interrogates the people building AI, featuring interviews with leaders from OpenAI, Anthropic, and DeepMind.

The core idea “apocaloptimism” rejects both doomerism and blind optimism, framing AI as a force that could simultaneously unlock massive upside while introducing systemic risk. The film doesn’t just explore future scenarios; it questions whether a handful of companies should control technologies that could reshape economies, labor, and governance.
