The Latest Agentic Development

Oracle introduced the Fusion Applications AI Agent Marketplace, enabling enterprises to discover, vet, and deploy partner-built AI agents directly within systems. The marketplace connects customers with Oracle's network of certified agent experts, providing pre-validated agents with enterprise-grade security.

Z.ai announced GLM-4.7, positioning it as a model tuned for long, multi-step, tool-using development workflows (agentic-style execution) and claiming improved consistency vs. GLM-4.6 in real programming tasks. They report 67.5 on BrowseComp and 87.4 on τ²-Bench (stated as the top reported score among open open-source models), plus #1 among open-source models on Code Arena, and they published Hugging Face weights alongside API access—signal that “agent-ready” models are becoming productized with measurable tool-use benchmarks.

Anthropic announced Agent Skills as an open industry standard, releasing partner capabilities from Atlassian, Figma, Stripe, Zapier, and Notion. This enables skills built once to deploy across any Claude-compatible agentic system.

In Amazon’s legal battle with Perplexity, two nonprofit groups filed an amicus brief supporting Amazon’s stance that autonomous AI agents must identify themselves as non-human actors. As AI shopping bots become more independent and unpredictable, the groups argue that requiring bots to disclose they’re AI is critical for security, accountability, and trust online. This transparency could shape how agent-driven commerce unfolds, balancing user convenience with safeguards against rogue or deceptive bot behavior.

The travel industry is shifting from search-led booking to AI-driven execution, as advanced agents now handle end-to-end trip planning and reservations. Nearly 25% of consumers say they’re comfortable letting an AI plan their travel itineraries, and companies are responding with autonomous travel agents that go far beyond chatbots. For example, Expedia’s AI agent can rebook flights or fix trip issues in one interaction, and Trip.com’s “TripGenie” builds and books complete multi-part itineraries based on user intent. These AI agents monitor prices, adjust schedules, and manage disruptions in real time – reducing friction for travelers and signaling a broader pivot to agent-led commerce in the travel sector.
