From Hype to Production: Voice AI in 2025
Voice AI has crossed into production. Deepgram’s 2025 State of Voice AI Report with Opus Research quantifies how 400 senior leaders - many at $100M+ enterprises - are budgeting, shipping, and measuring results.
Adoption is near-universal (97%), budgets are rising (84%), yet only 21% are very satisfied with legacy agents. And that gap is the opportunity: using human-like agents that handle real tasks, reduce wait times, and lift CSAT.

The Latest Agentic Development
Anthropic unveiled Claude Opus 4.5, an upgraded flagship model with better coding, deeper reasoning, long-term memory, and support for building more powerful autonomous agents that can operate across tools like spreadsheets, browsers, and enterprise apps. The focus is explicitly on complex, multi-step “agent” workflows for business use, putting Anthropic in tighter competition with OpenAI, Google, etc
IBM released a comprehensive guide on agentic AI, outlining three core components governance, performance monitoring, and economic value focus for enterprise adoption. Emphasizes Responsible AI frameworks; predicts sustainable integration beyond hype.
A research team in Valencia used AI to recreate the voice of Fran Vivó, a Spanish ALS patient. From only ~20 minutes of WhatsApp recordings in Spanish/Valencian, their neural model captured his vocal timbre, prosody and emotional nuances. The result is a highly realistic synthesized voice that matches Fran’s identity, replacing the usual robotic speech aid. The project highlights AI’s potential to humanize communication for people with speech loss.
Google rolled out new AI-powered travel tools in Search. The global expansion of AI Flight Deals lets users describe their trip “like talking to a friend” and returns personalized bargain flights. Meanwhile, Google introduced agentic booking in its AI Search (AI Mode): you can state your needs and preferences (e.g. dates, destination, budget) and the agent will search for options and provide direct booking links for hotels, flights, restaurants, and events. These updates aim to automate itinerary building and reservations via natural language.
China reiterated its “AI Plus” strategy to embed AI across all industries. Government guidelines call for >70% penetration of new AI-enabled devices and agents in six key sectors by 2027, and >90% by 2030. The initiative makes AI a centerpiece of China’s economy: by 2030, an “intelligent economy” is expected to be a major growth driver. China already accounts for about 60% of global AI patents, and the policy reflects its push to lead in commercial AI and digital transformation.
