📡 The Latest Agentic AI Development

The last three days show a burst of vertical launches: finance, compliance, customer service, travel, and automotive all unveiled working AI agents. BlackLine’s Verity positions agents as trusted CFO teammates, LATAM Airlines rolled out an AI trip planner, and Cerence partnered with Microsoft to make cars into rolling offices. Meanwhile, Genesys, Whatfix, and OneTrust are embedding multi-agent orchestration deep into enterprise workflows, while RavenDB and Sourcetable push agents into the database and spreadsheet layers.

🚗 Qualcomm & Google Cloud Bring Agentic AI to Cars – Qualcomm and Google Cloud expanded their partnership to integrate Google’s Automotive AI Agent (powered by Gemini models) with Snapdragon Digital Chassis, enabling automakers to deploy personalized in-car assistants that combine on-device AI and cloud services.

🤖 Genesys Unveils Multi‑Agent AI for CX Orchestration – At its Xperience 2025 event, Genesys unveiled advanced agentic AI agents for the Genesys Cloud platform, adding Agent2Agent collaboration (A2A) and Model Context Protocol (MCP) support. These upgrades let Genesys’s AI copilots and virtual agents communicate and work together autonomously to handle complex customer experience tasks without human intervention.

🧭 Whatfix Launches Context‑Aware AI Agents – Digital adoption platform Whatfix introduced AI Agents across its product suite, leveraging a proprietary ScreenSense technology that interprets users’ context and intent in real time. The first three agents – Authoring, Insights, and Guidance – now provide in-app content creation, analytics Q&A, and on-demand support, allowing users to complete tasks faster with relevant, on-screen assistance.

🛡️ OneTrust Debuts AI Governance Agents – At TrustWeek 2025, OneTrust announced new AI Privacy and Third-Party Risk “Agents” alongside automated data discovery tools to help manage AI-related compliance. The Privacy Agent automates privacy impact assessments by analyzing project docs and speeding up risk reviews, while the Third-Party Risk Agent can vet vendors in minutes instead of months – tackling the rising time (up 37% YoY) that teams spend on AI risk management.

💼 BlackLine Introduces Verity AI “Digital Workforce” – Finance automation firm BlackLine launched Verity™ AI, a suite of trusted AI capabilities billed as a “new digital workforce” for the Office of the CFOblackline.com. Centered on an AI assistant named Vera who coordinates specialized accounting agents, Verity brings agentic AI to finance teams for tasks like reconciliations, forecasting, and anomaly detection – all with enterprise-grade controls, auditability, and a unified data layer for accuracy.

🗄️ RavenDB Integrates AI Agent Creator into Database – Open-source database RavenDB v7.1 introduced the first database-native AI Agent Creator, allowing developers to build and run intelligent agents directly inside the database. By keeping agents close to the data (and following a zero-trust, default-deny security model), this feature cuts development time from “weeks or months to just days.” It enables secure, context-aware agents with direct access to live operational data – no complicated integrations or moving data to external LLM services required.

🚘 Cerence Brings Microsoft 365 Copilot to Cars – Automotive AI specialist Cerence announced a voice-enabled mobile work AI agent for drivers that integrates Microsoft 365 Copilot into cars. Unveiled at IAA Mobility 2025, the agent lets users safely access Teams meetings, emails (Outlook), and notes (OneNote) via natural voice commands. It’s context-aware (adapting if you’re parked, driving, or in an autonomous mode) and includes Microsoft Intune integration for enterprise security and policy control on the gocerence.com.

💰 Cognition Raises $400 M for AI Coding Agents – San Francisco startup Cognition, maker of AI coding assistant “Devin,” has raised over $400 million at a $10.2 billion valuation (led by Founders Fund). Coming just weeks after Cognition acquired rival Windsurf, the funding will fuel its vision of “autonomous software engineers” – multi-agent systems that can generate and modify code with minimal human oversight. The company reported that combining Devin with Windsurf’s IDE platform more than doubled its ARR, and high-profile enterprise clients (Goldman Sachs, Dell, etc.) are already on board.

📊 Sourcetable Brings “Superagents” to Spreadsheets – Startup Sourcetable (an online spreadsheet platform) introduced AI “Superagents”: autonomous, tool-using AI agents that can connect to any system, crunch data, and take action all from within a spreadsheet. With a familiar Excel-like interface, these agents can call APIs, write to databases, and even delegate subtasks to specialized agents – effectively turning spreadsheets into an agent-powered operating system for business data.

✈️ LATAM Airlines Launches AI Travel PlannerLATAM Airlines Group rolled out a beta AI virtual travel assistant (the first of its kind in Latin America) that helps customers explore destinations, plan activities, and get personalized flight quotes via natural-language. Developed with Google’s generative AI (Gemini on Vertex AI) in just three months, the agent taps into LATAM’s data and extensive flight network to offer a more intuitive, connected trip-planning experience – part of the airline’s push to enhance digital customer service.

Takeaway: This wave of announcements suggests the industry is converging on a shared architecture of task-specialized agents that collaborate with each other - a shift away from single monolithic assistants. The fact that we’re seeing agents wired into databases (RavenDB), spreadsheets (Sourcetable), and even airplanes and cars highlights how infrastructure, interfaces, and vertical domains are all being reimagined through the agent lens.
