  • Google announced Memory Bank for Vertex AI Agent Engine (public preview), a persistent-memory feature that lets AI agents remember long-term context and user preferences across sessions. (Source)

  • Google added agentic modes to Firebase Studio: a new “Agent” mode (Gemini can propose code changes with user approval) and “Agent (Auto-run)” mode (Gemini applies changes autonomously), plus Model Context Protocol (MCP) support and integrated Gemini CLI tooling for AI-assisted development.   • Mistral AI released updated Devstral code models, including a new Devstral Medium (via API) and an improved Devstral Small 1.1 (open-sourced under Apache 2.0), claiming state-of-the-art performance for coding tasks among open models (Source)

  • OpenAI (Browser) – Reuters reported July 9 that OpenAI is close to launching an AI-powered web browser with an integrated chat interface and agent capabilities, positioning it as a challenger to Google Chrome (Source)

  • Anthropic (Education) previewed new Claude for Education integrations with Canvas, Panopto, and Wiley, enabling students to reference lecture transcripts and peer-reviewed content directly within their Claude AI conversations. (Source)

  • Castellum.AI (Funding) announced an $8.5 million Series A round for its financial-crime compliance platform, which uses in-house AI agents to perform AML/KYC screening; the explainable agents reportedly cut false positives by over 90% in vetting transactions. (Source)

  • Pokee AI (Funding), a Seattle startup building reinforcement-learning AI agents to automate online workflows, raised a $12 million seed round (led by Point72 Ventures). (Source)
