Thomson Reuters Takes CoCounsel Fully Agentic for 1 Million Legal Professionals

Thomson Reuters made the next generation of CoCounsel Legal generally available, turning the product into a fully agentic system that can reason, plan and execute complex legal workflows rather than simply answer questions. Built on Anthropic’s Claude Agent SDK and grounded in Westlaw and Practical Law, it combines research, drafting, verification and matter workflows. New capabilities include a Drafting Agent inside Word, Westlaw Brief Builder and Tabular Analysis for reviewing up to 10,000 documents against 100 questions. Thomson Reuters says 1 million professionals across 107 countries and territories now use CoCounsel.

The strategic shift: vertical AI incumbents are moving beyond assistants into domain-specific agents backed by proprietary data, trusted sources and workflow execution a combination general-purpose agent platforms will struggle to replicate.

Binance Gives AI Agents Controlled Access to Real Money

Binance launched Agent OS, a standardized layer that lets AI applications access its trading, market data, wallet, payment and onchain infrastructure. Agents running through tools such as ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can inspect market and account information and execute supported trades. Binance is combining APIs, its Wallet Agentic Hub, x402 programmable payments, Skill Hub and MCP, while dedicated subaccounts allow users to isolate funds and permissions for individual agents.

The strategic shift: financial infrastructure is becoming directly machine-addressable. Instead of agents merely recommending trades, they can now execute them, making permissions, subaccounts and transaction controls a critical part of the agent stack.

Slack Turns Channels Into Workspaces for Coding Agents

Slack launched Slack Code, dedicated project channels where humans collaborate directly with coding agents. A user can tag agents such as Claude Code or Devin, which then spin up a code channel where the team can inspect diffs, see live HTML previews, give feedback and approve work. Channels automatically archive after a task and retain an audit log. Slack Code is available across all Slack plans, with Claude Code, Devin, Vercel Agent and GitHub Copilot among the founding integrations.

The strategic shift: coding agents are moving out of private IDE sessions and into shared, auditable team environments. Slack is positioning itself as an orchestration surface where humans supervise multiple agents as coworkers.

The U.S. Army Is Training AI Agents Like Cyber Personnel

U.S. Army Cyber Command is training agents for specific cyber “work roles”, including developers, data engineers, host analysts and exploitation analysts, with agents trained to qualification standards similar to humans. Agents are already hunting networks for threats and intrusions, while an agentic red team and 17 cyber-protection-team mission elements are operating on the network. Humans still retain decisions involving risk.

The strategic shift: one of the clearest implementations yet of the “AI coworker” concept is appearing in military cyber operations, where agents are being assigned jobs, trained, evaluated and deployed alongside people rather than treated as generic tools.
